Tasmania is home to some of the most amazing and unique landscapes in Australia and the best way to enjoy many of them is through a multi-day hiking adventure. Getting to and from your hiking adventure can be stressful, however, as Tasmania has limited transportation options and the destinations are as remote as they are beautiful.

The Tasmanian Adventure Company exists to provide an efficient, safe and cost-effective option for travellers to access trailheads from Hobart, allowing you to enjoy your outdoor journey without the hassle of public transport or expensive car hire.

The Tasmanian Adventure Company runs on-demand transport between Hobart and the best hiking destinations in Tasmania, including Cradle Mountain & Lake St Clair (gateways to the Overland Track), Frenchmans Cap, Federation Peak, the Western & Eastern Arthurs, and the Three Capes Track. Check out the transport tab in the menu to discover all of the amazing locations we offer transportation to and from.

We specialise in offering guaranteed market leading prices for transportation for one to three people, whereas other private transport options usually have a four-person minimum so if you are travelling in a small group you may end up having to pay extra to make up the minimum fare. So grab your hiking partners/buddies and join us in the spectacular and untouched Tasmanian wilderness today!

We booked Jason very last minute, Hobart to Cradle Mountain… best decision we could’ve made. Jason was very responsive from the get go and made things unbelievably simple to book and organise. As a female travelling with 2 other female friends, Jason was highly professional, told us great stories, fantastic music taste and made us feel comfortable and at ease. We couldn’t recommend him enough!

Booked a few weeks ago to get from Lake st clair to Hobart. Jason was incredibly helpful through the booking process. We got picked up at 11AM with no hassle. He took us along a very scenic route to Hobart. We had a lovely time and great company. He provided amazing recommendations for Hobart, as well. Would highly recommend this service for flexibility and good chats.

I had a phenomenal experience with Jason at The Tasmania Adventure Company and highly recommend. Booking and communication was simple and efficient, we were accommodated for with the timing of our flight and thanks to our Garmin InReach and Jason’s generosity we were able to be picked up earlier than originally planned which was very helpful. The option to purchase gas directly made life much easier and we were able to stop on the way there and back for some food and last minute items. Jason is kind and accomodating and his service was top notch- no complaints. For reference we used the service to complete the Western Arthur’s Traverse. Book in now!

If you need transport to and from the trail head of the Western Arthurs (Huon Campground), I can highly recommend Tasmanian Adventure Company. My experience with them was flawless. Jason was prompt in answering all my questions on booking, and the transport was comfortable and on time. I contacted him via my Garmin from the range as we finished our traverse early, and without fuss, he picked up my team from Huon and transferred us to Hobart a couple of days early. He even stops for a bite to eat along the way at awesome place with great food!

Owner's reply
Thanks for the kind words Paul and well done again on your efforts on one of the most challenging 'hikes' in Australia.

Jason from The Tasmanian Adventure Company gave us an excellent service to and from the Western Arthurs trailhead at Huon Camp Ground. We planned our walk as a typical A – K traverse with an extra day or so for contingencies, where Jason was to pick us up 8 days after our start date. Unfortunately our walking dates were complicated by severe weather on the range, and we turned around at Lake Oberon. Fortunately we managed to receive a couple of bars of Telstra service (not always typical, so don't rely on phone, maybe have a SPOT or InReach for reliable communication), enough to alert Jason we would be walking out a few days later. We received a reply that he’d pick us up when we required it, which is exactly what happened. Other little things, Jason picked my walking partner and I up from the two different locations we were staying in Hobart. He stopped on the way so we could grab a coffee and a snack, and stopped on the way back so we could grab much needed warm food. And he’s a good bloke to chat with. Five stars.

Jason was an absolute legend. Super friendly, a proper Hobart local, and incredibly easy to deal with. Even when our plans changed last minute, he didn’t hesitate to help and made the early pickup completely stress-free. You can tell he’s genuinely interested in the people he transports and the stories behind their trips. If you need transport in the area, I honestly couldn’t recommend him enough.

Owner's reply
Thanks for the kind words Rhys. Well done on persevering through some tough conditions on the WAT and will hopefully see you back in Tassie soon!
