South Coast Track Car Relocation | Car Relocation from Hobart to Cockle Creek with The Tasmanian Adventure Company

How it works:

1. You drive to our base in Lindisfarne in Hobart, leaving a spare car key* with us and then either:
   1. 1. Travel in your car with one of our drivers to Par Avion in Cambridge for your flight (option is only available if a driver is available at your requested time, please contact us to confirm).
      2. Leave your car at our base and take a Taxi/Uber/Metro bus to Par Avion in Cambridge.
2. You fly from Cambridge to Melaleuca to start your amazing adventure along the South Coast Track.
3. One of our amazing and experienced drivers drives your car to Cockle Creek, leaving it parked safely in a pre-organised location.
4. You collect your car once you arrive at Cockle Creek and continue your journey through Tasmania.
5. You collect your spare key from our base in Hobart.

*If you don’t have access to a spare key for your car, please contact us to discuss alternatives (i.e. using a lockbox for key handover).

What are the benefits?

The ultimate in convenience and flexibility:

• If you have pre-organised transport collecting you from Cockle Creek you may feel rushed to make it before the scheduled pick-up time, and any unforeseen delays on the track will no doubt add to the stress. With your car waiting for you at the end of the track, your finish time is flexible and stress-free.
• You can access a change of clothes (and any other creature comforts!) from your car straight away.
• You don’t have to sit in a transport vehicle for two or more hours on windy roads to get back to your car.
• You don’t need to wait for any other groups taking the same transport as you.

The boring stuff:

• This service is weather dependent, and we reserve the right to cancel the service and provide a full refund (less any non-refundable payment processing fees) at any point due to unforeseen extreme weather.
  • • If we need to cancel your service while you are on the South Coast Track, they will endeavor to contact you as soon as possible to organise alternative arrangements.
• Your vehicle must have enough fuel for the approximately 120km journey from Hobart to Cockle Creek (we suggest having at least half a tank of fuel).
  • • Please note the roads are very windy and hilly so this needs to be factored in when estimating the amount of fuel required.
    • If fuel needs to be purchased by us due to an insufficient amount to complete the journey, the cost will be passed on to you in full along with a $50 service fee.
• If your vehicle has any minor mechanical issues during the relocation which require roadside repair to continue journey (flat battery, flat tyre etc.), all associated repair costs will be passed on to you along with a $100 service fee.
  • • These costs will not be passed on if our driver is at fault for the minor mechanical issue.
• If your vehicle has any major mechanical issues during the relocation which are unable to be repaired roadside, we will endeavor to relocate (tow) your vehicle to the nearest safe location, with all associated relocation costs passed on to you plus a $200 service fee.
  • • These costs will not be passed on if our driver is at fault for the major mechanical issue.
    • In the event of a major mechanical issue, we will endeavor to contact you as soon as possible to organise alternative arrangements.

Please note that entry to the Southwest National park (where the South Coast Track is located) requires a valid Parks Pass.
